Webfleet at the Great British EV Rally
The Great British EV Rally is a demonstration of the UK EV charging infrastructure, combined with clean and innovative vehicle technology. It took place from 4 to 8 July 2022 and saw 50 electric cars and vans embark on a five-day, 1200+ mile ‘e-Rally’ across the United Kingdom. Joining the rally was our Webfleet UK team. They shared their experience with us—read the full story to learn more about the potential of EVs!
The idea behind the event is to show the roles that EVs can play in UK fleets—that no matter what the job, there is likely an EV that can perform the task. Improving efficiency, saving money on fuel costs and most importantly, helping reach net zero. Along the way, the participants took in many of the beautiful landmarks across the United Kingdom, finishing at Lands’ End. Most importantly, they showcased the region’s charging infrastructure at the same time.
Each of the participating vehicles carried eye-catching branding and they were driven by fleet professionals, key industry people, media and even three Guinness World Record Holders.
This is where our Webfleet UK team played its part. Driving in a Webfleet-branded EV from start to finish, the team of four completed the rally with the support of nine more UK-based colleagues. The event saw a total of 17 teams with over 100 drivers involved throughout the entire rally.
The verdict? Electric vehicles have the potential to play a huge role in fleets. For Webfleet, it was not only about data, but about collaboration, sharing knowledge, a challenge, planning and efficiency, mental health, the journey and critically—the environment.
Thank you, UK team, for sharing your adventure with us!
