Paid Search Specialist (Freelancer)

We are looking for a Freelance Paid Search Specialist with strong expertise in SEM and CRO, and a passion for converting in-market demand into high-quality sales opportunities. With this position, you will work in the Demand Capture Squad at our office in Barcelona, activating and optimising bottom-of-funnel campaigns to maximise pipeline contribution from ready-to-buy audiences.

You will join a dynamic, cross-functional team and report to the squad’s internal digital marketer, working in close collaboration with the Inside Sales leads, Product Owner, and the central creative/design team.

What you’ll be doing:

You will own the paid activation and CRO layer of bottom-of-funnel campaigns targeting high-intent keywords, retargeting engaged audiences and optimising the conversion experience from click to lead. Your efforts will directly fuel the sales pipeline with qualified opportunities while ensuring cost efficiency.

  • Plan, launch, and optimise Search/SEM campaigns (Google Ads, Microsoft/Bing Ads incl PMAX) with a focus on high-intent keywords and strong conversion performance.

  • Drive conversion rate optimisation (CRO) by refining lead forms, CTAs, and product landing pages in collaboration with our CRO expert, internal digital marketer, designers and developers.

  • Track and report on BOF performance KPIs, including CPL, cost per opportunity and lead quality.

  • Recommend tactical adjustments to improve inbound lead quality, sales conversion rates and budget efficiency.

  • Coordinate test-and-learn experiments with the internal digital marketer to validate messaging, creative and audience improvements.

  • You will report to the internal digital marketer within the BOF Squad.

  • Operate within the squad's agile processes, maintaining clear task ownership and feedback loops to ensure smooth coordination.

Who are you?

  • You are already set up in Spain to work as a freelancer in Barcelona, either as a self-employed contractor (autónomo) or through your own services company (SLU), and can invoice us directly under one of these legal forms.

  • You bring 3–5+ years of hands-on SEM experience running and optimising Google Ads and Microsoft/Bing Ads campaigns (including Performance Max) for B2B lead generation.

  • You leverage AI and automation to work smarter.

  • You understand the full conversion journey, spotting friction points from ad copy to landing page and applying CRO best practices to continuously improve results.

  • You’re data-driven and ROI-focused, confident with analytics tools (GA4 or PIWIK Pro, Looker Studio, Supermetrics) to measure CPL, cost per opportunity, and lead quality.

  • You thrive in an agile, collaborative environment, comfortable working in cross-functional squads and using tools like Jira and Confluence to stay aligned and transparent.

  • You communicate clearly and proactively, sharing insights and recommendations that help marketing and sales teams hit their pipeline and revenue goals.

  • You’re a self-starter who loves testing and learning, bringing creative ideas for messaging, bidding strategies, and audience targeting while maintaining cost efficiency.

  • You’re detail-oriented and organised, able to juggle multiple campaigns, track experiments, and document learnings for continuous improvement.
