We are looking for an energetic and hands-on Privacy Professional or Privacy Counsel to join Bridgestone Mobility Solutions / Webfleet Solutions (“BMS”) with his/her expertise in a highly dynamic, international environment. In this position, you will safeguard BMS’ practices comply with data protection laws, you will closely work together with business stakeholders at all levels, and provide pragmatic privacy advice to our fast-moving global business.

Here is a taste of your opportunity:

Further develop, implement and maintain our global privacy compliance program, policies, procedures and controls;
Provide privacy support to our sales teams to help close commercial deals with prospective customers in the Fleet Management Services and Connected Car services industry;
Inform and advise (data) engineers and other stakeholders about their obligations in the handling and processing of personal data under GDPR and other applicable data protection legislations;
Provide on the job training to product managers and software engineers regarding privacy & data protection and support a ‘privacy by design’ approach during the product development process;
Advising on privacy impact assessments and assisting with data breach response. Reporting on data breaches as appropriate;
Work closely with legal team members and information security / compliance team to ensure correct application of Bridgestone’s privacy policies and procedures;
Implementation and support of effective documentation of data protection obligations.

What do we expect from you?

This is the kind of profile we need to be successful:

Master’s degree in law or completed certification on privacy (DPO studies, AIPP, CIPP or similar);
5 years of relevant experience, including relating to data protection, ideally gained at an international reputable law firm, as in-house Privacy Counsel or in an in-house IT/Tech/Security environment;
Ability to find practical, pragmatic and compliant solutions to privacy obligations;
Ability to explain and ensure practical application of GDPR, EU Digital Services Act, EU Artificial Intelligence Act and other relevant regulations;
A good grasp of software development and related technologies processes, particularly regarding privacy and data security requirements;
Self-starting, committed to operational excellence, independent work attitude and result driven;
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to communicate privacy concepts and requirements to all levels within and outside the company;
Certification or knowledge of related standards such as ISO/IEC 27001 (27701), ISO 22301, etc. is beneficial;
Knowledge of other languages, especially German or French is a considerable advantage.
