Ask me anything with Michiel Wesseling
Ask me anything is an internal event series where we interview our board members live, taking questions from employees.
In the second session of the "Ask me anything" series, our employees had the opportunity to learn more about Michiel Wesseling, COO of Bridgestone Mobility Solutions.
He started by telling us all how close he feels to sustainability and the passion he has for it. What are the things that Michiel has implemented in his personal life to be more sustainable?
- He stopped eating meat for more than two decades ago
- He has placed solar panels in his house rooftop
- He aims to go from two regular family cars to one electric car to cut down on CO2 emissions
Michiel is also very sporty. Did you know that he competes in triathlons and loves running and cycling? He also used to train and teach martial arts classes!
He believes one of the key points to reach professional success is to first discover what success really means to you. Setting a target for yourself is very important, as is creating a plan that you can stick to as much as possible.
Michiel is also an avid reader. The author that completely changed his mindset and way of thinking is Nassim Taleb. He specifically mentioned Taleb’s book “Antifragile: Things That Gain from Disorder”, which taught him to see a crisis as something that actually helps you thrive and get stronger.
Thank you Michiel for sharing more about yourself!
